Are you as the client responsible for good or bad creative?

Partially. In order to deliver good creative work, an agency will ask the client to supply a well thought-out project brief that includes key background information, specifics on the target audience, the communication goal, and the main message.

If this information isn’t provided at the start, sometimes assumptions are made that lead the creative team in the wrong direction. This could be the point where the creative solution goes from being “BANG ON! – OUT OF THE PARK! – FABULOUS! – WOW!” to “it’s okay” or “blah.”

A client who engages themselves at the front end of the project and hands over great information (da Brief) to the creative company will always win.

The only other factor – is your agency creative?

Since Ray established The FaQtory in 1984, we have had the opportunity to work with many different clients from multiple backgrounds and sectors.

Ray Kuik, The FaQtory’s President and most Senior Account Manager, places a high value on networking and forming mutually rewarding relationships with his client’s. In many cases, those professional relationships have grown into lasting friendships and even business partnerships. Two clients that Ray wishes to highlight in particular are Dr. Stephen R. Covey and Steven Schussler.

Stephen R. Covey is recognized as one of Time Magazine’s 25 most influential Americans and has dedicated his life to demonstrating how every person can truly control their destiny with profound, yet straightforward guidance. As an internationally respected leadership authority, family expert, teacher, organizational consultant, and author, his advice has given insight to millions. With over 20 million books sold (in 38 languages) – one of those being The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, he is a positive force to be reckoned with.
The FaQtory has had the pleasure of working with FranklinCovey for a number of years. We designed two books for Sean Covey, Senior Vice President of Innovations and Products, called The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens and The 6 Most Important Decisions You’ll Ever Make. As well, we developed the brand and executed the materials for Franklin Covey’s educational process The Leader in Me™ and Stephen Covey’s book The Leader in Me and continue to work with them on new initiatives.

Ray had the opportunity to get together with Dr. Covey at a The Leader in Me book launch planned as part of an education event in Washington, DC.

Steven Schussler is a branding expert, consultant, entrepreneur, restaurateur, motivational speaker and national bestselling author of It’s A Jungle In There – a book full of inspiring lessons, hard-won insights and other acts of entrepreneurial daring. Well known as the creator of one of the top grossing restaurant chains in the world, Rainforest Cafe®, Steven has since founded Schussler Creative where he leads the creative vision and overall strategic direction of the organization.

Steven has created, built and has a significant ownership stake in the following themed restaurants and edutainment attractions: T-REX™, Yak & Yeti™, Betty & Joe’s™, Hot Dog Hall of Fame™, Galaxy Drive In™ and Backfire BBQ™ to name a few. The FaQtory, along with our interactive division INTOUCH Interactive, has played a significant role in the launch and roll-out of T-REX as well as working with Schussler Creative on Hot Dog Hall of Fame, Betty & Joe’s and Backfire BBQ.

Ray attended the grand opening of Backfire BBQ (where Schussler partnered with Orange County Choppers) and had the chance to meet Paul Teutul, Sr. as well as to spend some quality time with Steve.

Richardson International’s traffic-stopping trade show booth has not only been successful in garnering a great amount of interest from farm customers, it is causing the industry to sit up and take notice.

During the Western Canadian Crop Production Show, held January in Saskatoon, the high-impact display received the Best Large Booth Award, as voted on by the show’s organizing committee. It also won the Most Innovative award during March’s Ag Expo in Lethbridge, where judges praised its eye-catching design, innovative multimedia monitors and effective use of space.

“The new booth proudly displays every part of our business and is very welcoming to our customers and suppliers,” says Russ Reich, Marketing Specialist for Richardson Pioneer.

Strategically envisioned and created by The FaQtory, the booth features a sleek and innovative custom design that encompasses all aspects of the organization. The booth effectively promotes Richardson International as Connecting Farm, Food and the Future.

“The booth has proven to be a great networking tool during trade shows,” Reich says. “It shows customers and suppliers that our staff and our Ag Business Centres are the best in the industry.”

In addition to being one of the most popular exhibits at the Ag Expo and at the Western Canadian Crop Production Show, which was attended by over 17,200 people and is regarded as Western Canada’s premier grain industry showcase, Richardson International’s booth made appearances at Agri-Trade in Red Deer, Ag Days in Brandon and Farm Tech in Edmonton.
