I had a boss once that used the phrase “Keep your eyes and ears open, and your mouth shut”
Now this seemed a little gruff and abrupt at the time and still does if you word it that way.
Regardless of the way he said this, it what’s he was saying that stuck with me years later.
Talk less and listen more
I have a list of questions to get to know a client and their business better, but after I ask the question(s), I sit back and listen to what they are saying, the way they are saying and making sure I take it all in.
This is a key element to helping clients and creating solutions that work for them.
